Free Walking Tour Aachen – Itinerary
Free Tour Aachen starts at the Mechanical water sculpture, where you will meet your guide and the rest of the group. From there, we will begin our tour by walking towards the city center.
The first stop on the tour is the Aachen Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of St. Mary. This impressive building is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the most important examples of Carolingian architecture. The cathedral was built in the 8th century by Charlemagne and was the first German site to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside, you will see the famous octagonal dome, which is covered in gold mosaics and is a true masterpiece of medieval art.
Next, we will walk to the Aachener Dom, a beautiful Gothic church that is considered one of the most important religious buildings in the city. The church was built in the 14th century and is known for its impressive stained-glass windows and intricate stone carvings.
After visiting the Aachener Dom, we will head to the Elisenbrunnen, a famous 18th-century fountain that is located in the city center. This beautiful fountain is known for its intricate sculptures and is a popular spot for visitors to take photos.
As we continue our tour, we will walk through the historic streets of Aachen and see some of the city’s most beautiful buildings, such as the City Hall, the Town Hall and the famous Aachen Rathausplatz.

After visiting the museum, we will take a walk through the city’s beautiful gardens, such as the Carolus Thermen and the Monschaupark. These gardens offer beautiful views of the city and are a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air.
